Ken Ravizza, Ph.D., is a professor of physical education at California
State University-Fullerton and one of the top sports psychology consultants
in the United States. Since entering the field 20 years ago, he has
worked with the U.S. Olympic field hockey, water polo, and equestrian
teams, numerous individual Olympic and national-level competitors,
the University of Nebraska football team and the NFL's New York Jets.
His
baseball experience dates to 1980 when he became involved with the
team at California State-Fullerton (which won the 1984 national championship)
and since 1985 has worked in all levels of the Anaheim Angels organization
as a sportspsych instructor. His is heavily involved with the Long
Beach State team and has worked with many other collegiate programs,
including UCLA and Arizona.
He
also has worked with international teams in India, Ireland, Sweden,
and Australia, and has been featured in numerous publications, including
The Sports Psychologist and Collegiate Baseball.
